Thomas Marvin Moore

Thomas Marvin Moore, age 77, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023 surrounded by family and friends at Hospice Savannah. 

Tom was born October 21, 1946 in Metter, Georgia to Otis and Ouida Moore. He moved to Savannah in 1948. Tom graduated from Savannah High School in 1965. In 1968, on December 6th, Tom married Davetta Ball Moore. The two were life long partners, just a month shy of their 55th wedding anniversary. They spent most of their life together on Wilmington Island.

He is survived by his wife Davetta Moore; daughter Kelli Garcia (Jae); son Phillip Moore (April); grandchildren Gavin, Aiden and Evan Garcia; sisters Linda Standard (Mike), Brenda Moore (Kim); several nieces and nephews; many cousins.

Tom was a loving family man, avid car enthusiast, and an active member of Grace Church of the Islands. He will be remembered for his ability to touch the hearts of those he encountered with his jovial nature, along with his kindness and empathy. Many will remember Tom from his years of customer service in the Savannah area. 

The family extends appreciation to the caring staff at Abercorn Rehabiliatation where he has resided for the last year and a half while struggling with his Alzheimers and Hospice Savannah where his time on earth came to an end. 

At his request his body will be donated to the medical college of Georgia Southern University in hope that he would be able to continue to serve this community even in his passing.

A vistation will be from 10:00 until 11:00, followed by a memorial service at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Grace Church of the Islands in Savannah, Georgia
